

Chef/Owner John Byrne, a native of Dublin, Ireland has been at Scarborough Fair since 1987.
He graduated from Dublin College of Catering, trained for the Doyle’s Hotel Group and Arthur Guinness & Sons at famous St James Gate. During his final year of training in West Germany, he was a Gold Medal Winner at the Strasbourg Salon de Culinaire in France. He moved to the United States in 1983.
While attending NYU for food service management, he worked both for the Hilton at Rockerfeller Center and Service America Corporation of Stamford. In 1987, he came to Scarborough Fair in Bronxville in 1987.
Then a small Tea-Room, John evolved Scarborough Fair into one of Westchester’s premier elegant restaurants, ranking on Zagat’s List. His alternative catering business grew so much that in 1999, he opened The Scarborough Fair Café and Marketplace, selling take-out gourmet food, breads, desserts and coffees.
After a highly successful restaurant run of 20 years, Scarborough Fair Restaurant closed in February of 2007. In April 2009, he created his own catering company; "Scarborough Fair Catering."
In January 2009, John took over the role as President of the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce and in his role looks to strengten the network between the merchants and most importantly the surrounding residential community that the commercial district values.
